Ultrasound World V (2009)
Ultrasound World V Program Abstracts
Workshop: Energy Efficiency in a Capital Constrained Environment Presenter: Dr James Neale, Industrial Energy Efficiency Division, Energy Research Group, University of Waikato, Hamilton, New Zealand
Abstract: Why are we still not there yet and with the price of oil going down does it even matter? The equations only get more complicated when we add in climate change, emission trading, plant reliability, process efficiency and overall energy efficiency and if that isn't enough we can also add a credit crisis as well. What ties these all together?
This workshop will provide you with real examples of not just how to implement energy efficient programmes but also how to build the robust business case for them in today's difficult economic times. Using real case studies as examples topics covered will include the impact on specific energy efficiency of plant reliability, process quality and process efficiency. The importance of holistic system wide analysis and auditing will be demonstrated along with how you can tap these resources for your own plant.
The use of ultrasound will also be specifically covered in relation to compressed gas and steam systems surveys along with the application of new software tools available to generate automated reporting with historical trending capabilities and cost saving accountability in both dollars and greenhouse gas emissions.
