Ultrasound World VI Program Abstracts
Presentation: So
What's the Need for Predictive Maintenance?
Presenter: Terry L Haycraft,
National Reliability Manager, Frito-Lay, Inc.
Abstract: Each .1 of
equipment down-time reduction gets tougher to get each year. As
seasoned mechanics retire from our workforce we cannot afford the
"learning curve" for our new mechanics. In many cases there is no
direct feedback on our Corrective or PM Jobs in CMMS. We needed
tools to start the transition from time/usage PM's to Condition
Based PDM, and help us avoid the premature failure due to
unnecessary over lubrication of our equipment. Terry will present a
brief overview of their Alpha / Beta sites utilizing the Ultraprobe
10,000, and Ultraprobe 201 Grease Caddy that has achieved enough
positive results to quantify the implementation of the predictive
technology on a national level.
