Abstract: This session will discuss the basic steps taken in developing and implementing the ultrasound program currently in place at Dakota Gasification Company. Specific ultrasound applications now include utility system leak detection, electrical  inspection, slow speed bearing monitoring, and electric motor regreasing.

Bio: Ron Tangen, Reliability Specialist, Plant Reliability Engineering Group
Ron has worked for Dakota Gasification Company, Beulah, North Dakota since 1984 as a Reliability Specialist prior to moving to the Plant Reliability Engineering Group in 2000. Since 2000, he has played a key role in developing the plants Thermal / Gas Infrared and Acoustical Ultrasound inspection programs. Ron is certified as a Level 2 Thermographer and Level 1 in Airborne Ultrasound.
