Course Overview

The Steam Trap Examiner Level II program is designed to provide the attendees knowledge on the methodology of reviewing more than just the steam trap, but all the system components that can affect a steam trap station operation. One key factor that will be taught is how to generate an exit summary report followed by a full Steam Trap Station Assessment Report.

Inveno Engineering LLC uses a Steam Team Group Concept where the attendees work in teams of two people per training team. Our instructors will provide the knowledge and demonstrate the knowledge for testing steam trap stations.

The training teams will work in class room and in the field with the senior instructor(s) to complete tasks and to exercise the acquired knowledge from the instructors. The Steam Team Group Concept is to insure maximized comprehension of the training course.

The Inveno Engineering LLC instructors are available at any time to go further in detail on any subject matter that the attendees would like to have further information or discussions. The in-depth training manuals that the attendees will received are written by the Inveno Engineering Senior Field Engineers and no materials are provided by manufacturers, therefore providing the attendee with a tremendous reference book for the class and in the future on steam systems.

    d. Identifying steam traps
    e. Reviewing the steam trap station installation
    f. Testing the steam trap by the three different methods
    g. Understanding steam trap operations
    h. Data logging

    j. Steam temperatures
    k. Condensate system (types)
    l. Determine condensate system pressures

Day Three

Data Information from Field Work – 8:00 to 9:00 am

Analyzing the Data – 9:00 to 9:30 am

  • Analyzing the data to provide a meaningful report
  • What is important and what is not important

Report Generation – 9:30 to 11:45 am

  • Understanding how to write a full steam trap station assessment report
  • How to write an executive summary
  • Proper report layout
  • Each team will develop a full report

Exam

  • Submit a summary report before ending of the class
  • Submit a full report within two weeks of the conclusion of the class

Conclusion – 11:45 am to 12:00 noon
